Hays Academy of Hair Design Students Give Back by Ashley Paulson

Every year, Hays Academy of Hair Design participates in Operation Christmas Child. It is that time of year again, and every single year that this comes around again, I am so moved by our students – students that may struggle to make a living on their own, yet still come together as a team and come up with a way to give to these children in need. The selflessness and love that these students pour out is a gift in itself.

Operation Christmas Child allows people to send a child in need a gift in a shoebox – to these children in less fortunate countries, even hygiene items and school supplies is the highlight of their year. The joy and excitement that you see in this video posted below is truly what giving is all about. It is so much more than just a shoebox with a gift inside, though. Every child that is blessed with a shoebox also gets a bigger gift – the gift of knowing Jesus. This organization has introduced millions of children to know the gospel and as the video says, good news is rippling around the world!

Hays Academy of Hair Design in Salina will be taking all donated gifts for Operation Christmas Child to the drop off site next Friday, November 20. If you feel the nudge to participate with us, please call us at 785.833.2280 for more details. We would love to help as many children as we possibly can! This is an amazing family oriented project you can do with your loved ones, to help our kids understand what giving feels like, and what we are called to do as God’s children. “After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said “Go and do likewise.” That is the mission of Samaritan’s Purse—to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.”
