Hays Academy wins big at Wella Trendvision Regional Competition in Chicago

Hays Academy of Hair Design, with campuses in both Hays, KS and Salina, KS is proud to announce that Salina Campus student Megan Hertel, of Salina, KS, placed 1st out of over 200 entries in the student category of the Wella Trendvision Regional Finals Competition on March 13th in Chicago, IL. In this incredibly challenging competition, by placing first, she has qualified to move on to the Wella Trendvision Finals Competition in Las Vegas, NV. Hays Campus student Hope Chubb, of Hoisington, KS got 2nd in the same competition. Also making the top 7 in the same event are Nicole Carrieri of Natoma, KS and Micha Johnston of Great Bend, KS.
Danielle Markley, Co-Owner of Hays Academy of Hair Design was awarded Regional Educator of the Year at Trendvision Regional Show. Danielle Markley commented “This weekends Trend Vision event in Chicago was so special for so many reasons. As one of the owners I was able to observe many of our core values put into motion by students from both campuses! I observed our core value of “work hard/have fun” by seeing not only our students competing but also students that put in a lot of hard work and energy to be able to attend the show in Chicago this weekend. I also observed our core value of “Family”. Having both hays and Salina students cheering each other on and being united as one was truly touching! As I was back stage with the students during the show another student competitor approached me and just wanted to say how nice, fun, respectful and talented the students from Hays Academy were and at that moment I thought “Even if we don’t place we have already won!” And lastly and most importantly “Faith”….as we were back stage the students from Hays academy and their models got in a circle and led a prayer. When I didn’t think it could get any better it did!!! So to say the least this weekend was one for the books!!!Hays Academy of Hair Design, would like to congratulate Megan Hertel, Hope Chubb, Nicole Carrieri, Micha Johnston and Danielle Markley on their accomplishments and wish them all the very best in their future endeavors.”
