Hays Academy Students Take Top Honors at the Sassoon Image of the Year Competition 2017
Hays Academy of Hair Design in Kansas is proud to announce that its students swept the top three spots in the Sassoon Image of the Year (Cut, Color and Finish) Competition 2017.
Janae Woods, from the Hays Campus, took third place. Megan Powers, from the Salina Campus, took second place, winning a 5-day course of her choice at Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles, CA. Krislynn Wiles, from the Salina Campus took home the top prize, a one-week Bespoke Course at Sassoon Academy, including all travel and accommodations, and a photoshoot for Estetica US Magazine.
About the Competition
This prestigious competition is open to all students at SASC (Sassoon Academy Student Connection) partner schools, who must submit an image of a look that they personally created (cut, color, finish, and style). The model’s own hair must be used, without assistance from wigs, hairpieces, extensions, or strands. Photos may not be retouched. Hairstyles are judged according to the Sassoon philosophy of Shape and Balance, precision technique, and suitability.
