When we search for a career, we often want to see a flourishing one, which is why you should take look at the booming beauty industry. In the United States alone, the beauty business employs over 670,000 people. In addition, this industry touts a job growth outlook that happens to be “faster than average” according to BLS data at a rate of 13% (2016-2026).

Hays Academy of Hair Design, with campuses in Hays and Salina Kansas, has seen a large number of students in the last 20 years. This includes stay at home moms that want a skill that allows them to work a day or two a week. In addition, Hays Academy has enrolled several single moms, looking for a career that will offer them the flexibility and opportunities to care for their loved ones. There has been traditional students and non traditional students, males and females, students from all walks of life. In fact, some of the past students utilized their cosmetology license to pay for their college degree by working their way behind a chair as they traversed a college education.

At Hays Academy, we choose not to offer an Esthetics program. Many don’t know this, but cosmetology offers a career in Esthetics as well as many other options too! The true beauty of the beauty industry is the fact you can go anywhere to work! While many states reciprocate with Kansas, the process to get licensed across state lines is usually a very doable task.
