At Hays Academy of Hair Design, we strive to graduate the most hirable, financially responsible graduates in the nation. We work really hard to give students all the tools necessary to succeed not only in school, but in the workforce as well. If you are a new student, a current student, or someone who has been considering cosmetology school in general, it is important that you know all of the resources available at Hays Academy of Hair Design in Salina and Hays.
By implementing an elite and internationally recognized cutting program we have been fortunate to have students, graduates and instructors compete and be awarded on big stages in Omaha, Nebraska, Chicago, Illinois, Las Vegas, Nevada and Long Beach, California. Being a Sassoon Academy Connection School, our staff are provided continued education in keeping their skills current with new trends and the ability to give that same information to our students. Cutting hair the Sassoon way is a skill that allows stylists the ability to perform outstanding haircuts on both men and women.
The Wella color and product line has been a strong asset for our students in their education. Hair color formulation and application is one of the most exciting aspects of a cosmetology education at Hays Academy. We love to see the before and after pictures of our students work so much that we post it on social media for other industry professionals and hair fanatics to like and share. Students feel a sense of accomplishment when they get likes from Wella, Sassoon and industry superstars on our Instagram account (@haysacademy).
Beyond cosmetology, we educate our students using the Nuts and Bolts Business Training Program. Developed by CEO and founder Jim Yates, an industry celebrity and salon and spa professional extraordinaire, students gain the ability to see the big picture of how to obtain success. Being able to learn how to take a walk-in client into a re-booking and word-of-mouth advertiser is important to obtaining a strong salon client. In addition to learning client interaction and client building techniques, students learn financial literacy and budgeting. This education transpires not just cosmetology understanding and success, but personal growth that is limitless.
When you take these educational tools and combine it with a nurturing and educated staff, many have found their time at Hays Academy of Hair Design as one of the better experiences of their lives. We take the time to learn who our students are, what their needs are and how to best serve them on a personal level. Staff meet weekly to build and expand into a strong and consistent team of professionals. Having a foundation of core values that staff are held accountable for allows for diligent and committed professionals to be at their best for each student, each day. From assistance in attaining gainful employment to bringing in industry leaders who share their time and experiences, Hays Academy of Hair Design nurtures and mentors their students to become leaders in the cosmetology field.
