Financial Aid Available to Those Who Qualify
Hays Academy of Hair Design offers financial aid to those who qualify. This is a big deal, but understanding financial aid is an even bigger deal. Too many times students across the country enter into a financial aid agreement not fully understanding what they are getting into. At Hays Academy, with campuses in Hays and Salina Kansas, we have a deep desire for our students to fully understand this agreement!
Whats Available?
In order to have an understanding of financial aid, you must first know whats available. There are many options that may be available to you, however you must first qualify for those options. Here are the programs that Hays Academy participates in to assist students with their financial needs.
-Pell Grants
-Subsidized Loans
-Unsubsidized Loans
-Direct Plus Loans
Pell Grants
Pell Grants are fantastic if you qualify for them! Grants are monies that do not require any repayment! Federal Pell Grants usually are awarded only to undergraduate students who display exceptional financial need and have not earned a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree(Source). Of course, you must take time to fill out your FAFSA in order to find out if you qualify. You can do that here! When asked for a school code, insert 015944 (Hays Campus) or E02178 (Salina Campus).
Subsidized Loans
One of the loans available to students is a Subsidized Loan. These loans are in place to help students cover costs involved with higher education. While there are several components to this type of loan, a key part is in short, Direct Subsidized Loans have slightly better terms to help out students with financial need(Source). Take a minute to click on the link provided to learn more! Again, these are all based on qualifying.
Unsubsidized Loans
While slightly different than above, Unsubsidized Loans are also helpful in helping an individual cover costs of higher education. Direct Unsubsidized Loans are available to undergraduate and graduate students; there is no requirement to demonstrate financial need(Source). At Hays Academy, we spend intentional classroom time educating our students on financial aid and becoming financially responsible!
Direct PLUS Loans
Another avenue for financial assistance comes from the Direct PLUS loan. The U.S. Department of Education makes Direct PLUS Loans to eligible borrowers through schools participating in the Direct Loan Program(Source). It has always been the recommendation of Hays Academy to borrow as little as possible, however we understand that this financial assistance may be what it takes to conquer that next level of education you desire!
