Success only happens when you work hard and step outside of your comfort zone. Hays Academy of Hair Design with campuses in Salina and Hays, Kansas has achieved a great deal of success in its tenure as a cosmetology school. This last weekend, our students and staff witnessed success unlike anything we have ever witnessed before.
The first annual Wella Midwest School Show in Omaha, Nebraska was an incredible venue for students from five cosmetology schools in the Midwest to gather together for classes, education and three competitions. There were celebrity stylists, well known industry professionals and groups of students, staff and models who were excited to showcase their skills on stage in front of their fellow students and educators. It was a phenomenal experience for our students and educators as they were able to unite to learn new industry trends, new techniques and important product knowledge. Furthermore, they were able to observe how well they performed in comparison to their peers. Products, tools and prizes were being given away, music was playing and the atmosphere was vibrant as the runway became electrified with intense beauty and creativity while models showcased stylist’s work.
Hays Academy is very proud to announce Ashley Paulson-Salina Campus won 1st place in the Instructor category, Colten Yungeberg-Salina Campus received 1st place in the Sebastian category, Alayna Henzler-Hays Campus won 1st place in the Wella Color category and Mary Lavin- Salina Campus received 2nd place in the Wella Color category. Hays Academy of Hair Design took gold in all three categories. We are so proud of all of the participants from Hays Academy of Hair Design. It takes a lot of courage and hard work to compete in a show of this caliber and we thank each student who represented us so well.
We are looking forward to hearing from our student winners as well as our instructor who won throughout the coming days. Stay tuned to Hays Academy of Hair Design’s social media outlets as well as the blog at haysacademy.edu to keep up to date with these outstanding award winners!
