How Bright is Your Future? by Tyler Paulson

How Bright is Your Future? by Tyler Paulson

I’m not trying to be your disgruntled and stressed parent that is asking you “what are you going to do with your life?”.  Who I am going to be is that motivated and persistent guy that sits in the office all day seeking ways to help you better your life. Of all the ways I can see the opportunity to really make a difference in your life is to help you get a job.  Not just a run-of-the-mill help you pay your bills job, but the job of your dreams!  The kind that allows you the opportunity to grow both as a stylist, and as a person.  The kind of job that you wake up excited to get to.  The kind of job that inspires you to make a huge difference in people’s lives.

You know what?  I can say I have seen this happen with some of our graduates.  Not all of them, of course, but those who really wanted to make it happen.  Now you’re wondering “what did they do to make it happen for them?”.  I want to give you that answer, I really do.  I want you to know exactly what they did to ensure their future was going to be fun, secure, and allow for them to make a difference.  I can sum it up in two words, really—proper preparation.

Proper Preparation should include each of the following:

-Completed cover letter

-Well written resume

-Creative online portfolio showcasing your work

-Tactful studying of the desired salon or spa you are seeking employment from

-Who is/are the owner(s)?

-What is the dress code?

-What product lines do they offer?

-What services do they offer?

-What is their pay structure?

-A successful job shadowing experience

-An interview scheduled

-An interview completed

This may seem like an extremely large workload.  It may look like a whole lot of hard work.  Guess what?  It is!  It takes time, energy and diligence to persevere!  The good news is, I will be by your side for as much of it as you want me to be!  (Minus sitting in on your interview with the salon or spa owner!)  I am willing to help you edit and re-edit your cover letter and resume as many times as you feel necessary until it is exactly what you want.  If the salon is local, I will visit it to help answer any of the questions you may have.  If it isn’t local, I will call them and ask them questions!  I will do whatever I can to assist you in achieving your dream!

So, how do you begin? You take the first step, you initiate that you are ready and we will begin the journey to getting you on track for success!  Call me (785) 833-2280, email me [email protected], or come into the office and we will make a plan together!

It’s your future.  Do you care about it as much as I do?
